Once we completed renovating the old stone building that was once the grain hopper/dairy/hay barn on the farm, into the studio-gallery, we wondered what to call it. That is, until we considered the unusual fact that it has a stream that dives down underneath it to emerge out in front of it the other side!

The undergroundstream was launched in October 2023 with an exhibition of works by us - Christopher Cook and Susie David - by way of introducing ourselves, and the new space.

 

This is a space to show extraordinary artworks by artists from around the world, and to enthuse art lovers and collectors in this area of already outstanding natural beauty!

 

Underneath the studio-gallery we have three double ensuite bedrooms for guests and retreats.

There is a minimal aesthetic of buffed concrete floors, white walls, with luxe pure linen and award-winning mattresses...

 

There are two super-king bedrooms - 'Bantham' and 'Yarmer', and

one European twin bedroom 'Butter Bay' named after three local beaches.

Deliciously close, is the feast paradise - Wild Artichokes, Ben Howard's award-winning best cafe 2023 - Outside, and there is also a cosy Devon pub just up the lane with open log fires and home cooking. Down the lane is the famous surf beach Bantham, and the coastal path that weaves along some gems of local sandy coves to walk, jog, swim and spot seals from. What are you waiting for?
